Do.T.E Infrared Syrah 2019

The lighter, leaner and more laid back side of Cortonese Syrah. Like the Joe-San, the inf.RarE.D 2019 sees whole-cluster fermentations and a good portion of carbonic maceration before spending a few months cellared in old barrique. A wine that oscillates between the serious and the nonchalant, the inf.RarE.D retains the brambly black/blue core of Syrah fruit along with an intriguing Kalamata olive bass note. Though with powdery soft tannins and bright, nimble framework, this still seems a wine made for reckless enjoyment and pleasure over soul-searching meditation.
