- Origin: Swiss Cantons
- Authority: Bishopric of Sion (Valais)
- Date: 1777 CE
- Denomination: BI (billon, debased silver) 6 Kreuzers
- Size: 25mm, 4.22g
- Obverse: F.FRID. AM: BUEL EP.SED - Mitre above four-fold arms.
- Reverse: VALL. 1777. COM.E.P.RE.: CR.6 - 2-headed eagle over arms.
- Notes: In the 17th and 18th centuries, the Swiss cantons formed a loose confederation known as the Old Swiss Confederacy, rather than a unified nation. Each canton governed itself independently, with significant differences in religion—some were Catholic while others followed Protestantism after the Reformation. Despite internal tensions and occasional conflicts, the cantons maintained a degree of cooperation for mutual defense and economic stability until the confederation was transformed by the French invasion of Switzerland at the end of the 18th century.
